The Reverend Rob Gillion was elected to become the 10th Bishop of Riverina, at a special session of the Diocesan Synod held at Griffith on Friday 4th April 2014.
The Reverend Rob Gillion is Rector of the Parish of Holy Trinity, Sloane Square with St Saviour's, Upper Chelsea and Area Dean of Chelsea in the Diocese of London. He is a member of the Archbishop's (of Canterbury and York) College of Evangelists. He is a regular writer and Trustee for the Bible Reading Fellowship. He is a contributer and adviser to the BBC for religious broadcasting. He was ordained in the Diocese of Norwich and served in the Dioceses of Norwich and Southwark before moving to the Diocese of Hong Kong in 1990. In 1999 the Bishop of Kensington in the Diocese of London invited Rev'd Rob to return to England to become his Officer for Evangelism. In 2001 he was appointed to St Saviour's to reopen this church. In 2008 Rev'd Rob became the Rector of the combined Parish of Holy Trinity and St Saviour's.
Rev'd Rob is married to Janine and they have two sons, one of whom lives in Melbourne Victoria.
Janine is also a contributer for the Bible Reading Fellowship and is an actress and a teacher who has extensive experience with children and young adults.
Rev'd Rob will be consecrated and enthroned as the 10th Bishop of Riverina on Friday 15th August 2014, at St Alban's Cathedral Griffith.
